The newest spot to spend time with the people you love the most is Havana Madrid. Owner Silvia Menendez, her daughter Vanessa, the charismatic bartender – everyone is waiting for you to come by and discover a true and authentic blend of Spanish and Cuban cuisine in an intimate setting that beckons you to stay for hours. Order some appetizers – tapas – to nibble on with your group and you’re set. Just go along for the ride.

You can stick to the Cuban side and order Tapas de Havana which samples some of the island favorites like soft tamale, crispy croquettes and mouth-watering pork chucks. Or venture to Spain for some chistorras al vino, small sausages cooked in a smooth wine sauce. Any tapas you order will pair perfectly with a wine from the gorgeous, spacious bar that’s nearby. If you don’t know which to get, feel free to ask and you’ll get a thoughtful recommendation. A selection of house wines are 100 percent Spanish. Also, a variety of wines from other regions like Argentina and Chile are available, with white wines from France and Italy.

To experience Havana Madrid to the fullest, stop by for some music and dancing. Even for lunch you can enjoy the special of the day while live music is played at levels that don’t make you eye the exit door. At nighttime, choose wisely. Sing your heart out on Wednesdays from 7 – 10 p.m for some karaoke fun. Thursdays are designated for flamenco dancing and deemed “Noche Madrilena.” In celebration, wines and tapas are two-for-one on both nights. Friday is “Noche Cubana.” Dust off that guayabera and dance to the sounds of traditional sones and boleros. Whatever the day, Havana Madrid brings a party that you definitely don’t want to miss.
