On the weekends, Berries in the Grove is the place for brunch. Pass by for $5 mimosas and a grand selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. You can even bring along your pup for the good time. Stick outside to truly bask in the lush environment.
While the Belgian waffle platter sounded enticing with eggs and sausage, I was in an Angus beef burger mood. The Berries Burger was calling to me. Angus is the way to go for burgers, and this one doesn’t disappoint. You can taste that the meat is cooked to order and the golden crispy fries are a treat on their own.
You also can’t go wrong with a gool ol’ turkey club with Swiss cheese and crispy bacon. This mouthful is a doozy and you’re sure to have some left over for a quick afternoon bite later on.
Last year, I celebrated my birthday at Berries and tried their signature pumpkin ravioli, which is also available for brunch. I was leaning toward having this tantalizing indulgence yet again. I have to go back soon and have it for dinner one night. My crave will also end when I have their coconut shrimp one more time. I can’t wait to head back for more.
And while I’m at it, I’ll definitely have another piece of banana cake. The cream cheese frosting was not too thick and the cake was spongey, soft like a moist banana bread. The chocolate and strawberry made the cake almost too hard to eat from how pretty it was. Another dessert must is their take on chocolate pizza with nutella and frozen yogurt. Try and leave room for this hot and cold pie.
Berries in the Grove is located at 2884 SW 27 Avenue in Coconut Grove. Brunch is served on the weekends from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For daily specials go here.
